Fernando ReyesEMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Meet Fernando Reyes, Flooring Consultant at Creative Carpet & Flooring in Mokena, Illinois

Q: What gets you excited about working at Creative Carpet & Flooring?
A: I’ll be honest, I came for the awesome benefits and incentives, but I stayed because this place is pure magic! Mark and the whole crew have created something special here. It doesn’t feel like a stuffy corporate job at all; it’s like working with your favorite people who just happen to be flooring wizards!
Q: How much pizza can you demolish in one sitting?
A: When it comes to Cemeno’s pizza in Joliet, I’m basically a bottomless pit! A large pizza? That’s just my warm-up act. My stomach has no known limits when faced with quality pizza; it’s both a blessing and a curse!
Q: What makes our leadership team special?
A: Our leadership team doesn’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk (on beautiful floors, of course!). Mark sets the gold standard for what leadership should look like. His organizational skills, crystal-clear vision, rock-solid integrity, and day-to-day consistency are truly exceptional.
Q: What topic will always get you fired up?
A: Work-life balance, now that’s something I’m passionate about! Finding that sweet spot between crushing it at work and being present for family and personal time is like solving a puzzle that keeps changing. It’s tough in today’s world, but it’s so worth fighting for. It’s an ongoing adventure that requires constant tweaking, but everyone deserves that happy medium!
Q: Who at the company inspires you most?
A: Mark Jr. is my workplace superhero! If I could accomplish even half of what he does in a single day, I’d probably deserve a trophy. He’s not just setting an example for our company, he’s basically showing the world how it’s done. The guy is unstoppable!
Q: Where is your hometown?
A: I live in Joliet, IL, and let me tell you the best part about this town: Home Cut Donuts! This place absolutely destroys any donut chain you can think of. When you’ve got donuts that good just down the street, you really can’t complain about where you live!
Q:  What is your favorite flooring?
Mirage Hardwood - Muse Collection in White Oak Rachel Character Brushed

Mirage Hardwood – Muse Collection in White Oak Rachel Character Brushed

A: I’m absolutely obsessed with the Mirage White Oak Rachel Brushed Character! We just installed it in a customer’s home, and WOW, those natural wood characteristics are pure eye candy. It has that perfect blend of elegance and contemporary style that complements any design aesthetic. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with this stunner!
Q:  What is your favorite flooring that you have installed in your house?
Bruce - LifeSeal in Sand and Sun

Bruce – LifeSeal in Sand and Sun

A: I went with Bruce Lifeseal Sand & Sun throughout my house, and it’s been a total game changer! This floor is basically the superhero of flooring: waterproof, gorgeous hardwood look, and tough enough to withstand my crazy household. We’re talking two teenagers, my wife, me, AND our chunky bulldog all putting this floor through boot camp daily. It’s waterproof, dent-resistant, and completely worry-proof. Best decision ever!

Fernando Reyes is a flooring consultant who discovered that Creative Carpet & Flooring hit all the buttons for what he was looking for in a company. What started as an attraction to great benefits quickly evolved into genuine love for a workplace that feels like family rather than corporate life. Fernando thrives on the satisfaction of seeing jobs completed smoothly from start to finish, using his efficiency and attention to detail to serve both customers and installers. His philosophy centers on continuous growth, adapting to new technology, and putting positive energy into the world to receive it back. When he’s not binge-watching Reacher or Breaking Bad for the tenth time, Fernando can be found taking long walks on trails, sipping his essential daily coffee, or planning future travels to visit relatives in Mexico and see the pyramids. This former grocery store stock boy (think Eric Foreman from That 70s Show!) has found his calling in an industry he believes you never leave once you enter, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Fernando’s greatest personal change has been embracing hiking and walking trails to clear his mind and relieve stress, proving that sometimes the best solutions are the simplest ones.
