Meet Chris Boerema, Director of Operations at Creative Carpet & Flooring in Mokena, Illinois
Q: What motivates you to work for Creative Carpet & Flooring?
A: Well, initially, it was the paycheck, let's be real here. But over time, it's evolved into something more meaningful: pride. There's a palpable sense of accomplishment in contributing to a company that's always growing and improving. Being part of this journey feels like an honor, knowing that each day we're adding another layer to the foundation of success.
Q: If you could trade lives with anyone for a day, who would be it and why?
A: If I had the chance to switch lives with someone for a day, it would have to be Elon Musk. Why? Well, I'd love to step into his shoes for a day and see firsthand if he's truly as brilliant as everyone seems to think, especially as Mark believes. It'd be an eye-opening experience to get a glimpse into the mind of such an innovative thinker and visionary.
Q: Is there anything you have noticed about our leadership team that stands out to you?
A: His impressive height and those unusually long arms! But beyond the physical quirks, what really shines through is Mark's unwavering integrity. He leads with honesty and integrity, setting a great example for the rest of us.
Q: Would you rather have a live-in maid or a live-in nanny?
A: Oh, definitely a live-in maid! I mean, let's be real here, living with my little tornadoes—oops, I mean children—would be a breeze if I didn't have to constantly play the clean-up crew! Bring on the magic wand-wielding maid any day!
Q: As a member of our team, what has been your greatest accomplishment?
A: Being part of this team, my proudest achievement has been witnessing our growth. Back when I first joined, there were just five of us hustling away. Fast forward to today, and we've ballooned to a team of 25 and counting! It's pretty humbling to think that I've played a part in that remarkable expansion.
Q: Where is your hometown?
A: That'd be good ol' Mokena, IL! It's the kind of place where everyone knows your name, your dog's name, and probably your favorite pizza topping too!
Q: What is your favorite flooring?

A: Gotta say, Karndean's Opus in Casablanca is my jam. Why? Because who wants boring floors, right? Let's spice things up and make a splash, folks!

Over a decade later, he's still at it, keeping everything moving like a seasoned pro. His motivation has shifted from money to pride as he witnesses the company's continual growth on a solid foundation. Through the years, Chris has become an integral part of the Creative Carpet & Flooring family, enduring challenges with a grin and a shrug. Yet, beneath the humor lies a testament to his dedication, evident in the company's expansion from a small team to a bustling workforce. Inspired by the supportive company culture and guided by leaders with integrity, Chris finds fulfillment in his role, even if his back complains a little more these days. When not orchestrating operations, you'll find him chauffeuring his daughters or seeking underwater adventures as a PADI divemaster. His philosophy?
