Meet Michelle Sierra, Showroom Manager at Creative Carpet & Flooring in Mokena, Illinois

Q: Is there anything about our leadership team that stands out to you?

A: Our leadership team at Creative Carpet & Flooring truly goes above and beyond for our customers. It's incredible to see how much they care about taking care of everyone. That's why we have so many 5-star reviews. Our leadership team's dedication to customer satisfaction is outstanding.

Q: What is a fact about you that few people are aware of?

A: A fact about me that few people know is that I'm a modern hippie at heart. I'm one of those folks who love to hang eucalyptus upside down in my shower. It adds a refreshing aroma and a touch of nature to my daily routine. I also strongly dislike chemicals and strive to embrace organic everything whenever possible. It's my small way of promoting a more natural and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Q: What is success to you?

A: Success meant having money, owning a house, and having a decent car. That's what I thought the American dream was all about... having a high status. But I've come to realize that money and material things don't bring true happiness. You could have all the wealth in the world and still feel empty inside. Success, for me, is finding joy in life. It's about being loved and having meaningful relationships. It's also about having the freedom to spend time on things that truly matter to you.

Q: If there's one thing you could tell your 18-year-old self, what would it be?

A: Focus on doing what makes you happy. The most effective way to achieve your dreams is to JUMP—just start, whatever it may be. Don't procrastinate, and stop making excuses. Take action and pursue your passions with determination. Trust me; you'll thank yourself later for embracing opportunities and not holding back.

Q: As a member of our team, what has been your greatest accomplishment?

A: My greatest accomplishment was being voted one of the top 3 flooring retail sales associates in the Chicagoland area in 2018. It was an honor to receive recognition for my dedication and customer service skills in such a competitive market. This achievement not only boosted my confidence but also highlighted my ability to deliver exceptional service and meet the needs of our valued clients. I'm proud to bring this experience and expertise to our team and continue contributing to our collective success.

Q: Where is your hometown?

A: My hometown is Seneca, IL, also known as "Out in the Boonies." It's located about an hour west of Mokena on I-80.

Q:  What is your favorite flooring?

A: Karndean is hands down my preferred choice when it comes to flooring! Their extensive collection of styles and colors has truly captured my heart. In my opinion, what distinguishes them is the astonishing authenticity of their imagery, which boasts minimal pattern repetition, unlike many other brands. This unique feature brings an unparalleled natural charm to any living space. As an example, I recently completed the installation of Opus in Terra within my kitchen. This design's captivating range of hues, along with its exceptional resistance to scratches and effortless maintenance, has truly won me over.

Q:  What is a flooring that you'd like to have in your own home?

A: There's no doubt that Karndean's Opus in Casablanca will be my favorite flooring in my house in the near future. It arrived in our warehouse the other day, and I'll have it installed soon. The flooring has a fun and funky pattern in black, white, and gray, which adds a unique touch to the space. Even better, I can easily complement it with any color I want, allowing me to customize the decor to my liking. I can't wait to see how it transforms my home!
