Congratulations on Your Flooring Purchase

So, you are purchasing new flooring, but where do you start? First, you want to find a reputable dealer that can provide home flooring installation. Here are some tips on finding a competent and honest floor covering professional => Top Tips for Hiring a Flooring Professional. Of course, we'd love for you to come to one of Creative Carpet & Flooring showrooms in Mokena, IL, or Highland, IN!

This will help in deciding what floor type offers the best value and performance for that room. Here is an idea of what to expect in How to Choose the Best Flooring for Your Home. Then, they should help you dig a little deeper to narrow your flooring selection to a small handful of options.

Once you have some idea of what you want, you want to get the area measured for an accurate quote. Then you can make your final selection of the flooring you would like, get the material ordered and schedule your installation. Creative Carpet & Flooring will keep you up to date on the status of your order from the time you select the product until after installation. You'll never have to wonder what's happening with your flooring.

What to Expect After Your Home Flooring Installation

Now you have beautiful new flooring installed in your home! Here are a few maintenance and cleaning tips:

Carpet Maintenance and Cleaning

Creative Carpet & Flooring Spot Cleaner

Creative Carpet & Flooring Spot Cleaner

  • Place walk-off mats at all entrances. If you can take four steps on a mat, it should remove 95% of the soil from your shoes.
  • Regular vacuuming removes invisible, abrasive soil, which is harmful to your floor.
  • Make sure you have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. This will double the life of your carpet. It also helps retain your warranty.
  • DO NOT use spotters from the grocery or hardware store on your new carpet unless it's Green Seal Certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute to leave no soapy residue behind. Otherwise, it will leave sticky residues that attract dirt and can cause fading. We carry our own spotting product that does a great job and isn't harmful to your carpet. You can purchase once for $24.99 and receive free refills for life!

Hard Surface Cleaning

Karndean Designflooring Cleaning Products

  • Use a PH-neutral cleaner such as Karndean's or Mr. Clean.
  • Use a shammy with a spray bottle after you sweep the floor. Don't ever dump the solution from a bucket onto the floor.
  • You may use a vacuum on your hard surface as long as there are no beater bars, as this could scratch your floor's surface over time.

Your flooring is an investment in the beauty and value of your home. By following the above cleaning recommendations, you will ensure greater enjoyment and a long life for your flooring! Creative Carpet & Flooring's expert Flooring Consultants can help you step by step with your home flooring installation and beautify your home. Schedule a free one-on-one showroom consultation online or stop into our Mokena, IL or Highland, IN store today!
